Your Privacy and Account Deletion: Our Commitment

Deciding to leave our community is a significant choice, and we’re committed to handling your decision with the utmost respect for your privacy and data. Here’s exactly what happens when you choose to delete your account, described in a way that’s easy for everyone to understand:

1. Clearing Your Personal Information

First off, we make sure to remove all your personal details from our user database. This means that any information that could identify you directly, like your name, email, or contact details, will be erased. We want to ensure that your departure from our platform leaves no personal traces behind.

2. Your Posts and Contributions

  • Posts You’ve Created: We respect the effort and creativity you’ve put into your posts. When you leave, we’ll remove the text and content of your posts and delete any images you’ve uploaded. This way, we protect your privacy while also keeping our platform’s content clean and relevant.
  • Profile Images: Just like your posts, we’ll also remove any profile images you’ve uploaded, ensuring that your visual identity is cleared from our platform.

3. Interactions and Engagements

All the interactions you’ve had on the platform, like likes, comments, or shares, will be removed. This step is part of our commitment to fully respect your decision to leave by erasing traces of your engagements.

4. Chat Anonymity

If you’ve had conversations in our chat system, we take a careful approach. While your personal details are wiped clean, the chat history itself remains intact to avoid disrupting the flow of conversation for other users. However, your name will be replaced with “Anonymous” or its equivalent in the user’s language, ensuring your privacy is maintained.

5. Your Digital Footprint

  • Neighborhood Geo-Location: Any geo-location data tied to your account, such as your neighborhood location, will be erased. We understand the importance of location privacy and ensure this information is fully removed.
  • Reviews: If you’ve left reviews on posts, these will stay on our platform but will no longer be linked to any identifiable information. They’ll simply be attributed to an “Anonymous” user, preserving the integrity of the feedback while respecting your privacy.

Your Final Step: Account Deletion

Deleting your account is a definitive action. Once you’ve decided to proceed, here’s how it works:

  1. Navigate to Settings: Go to your profile settings and look for the account deletion option.
  2. Confirm Your Choice: We’ll ask you to confirm your decision as this step is irreversible.
  3. A Respectful Goodbye: After confirmation, we take care of the rest, ensuring your digital presence is respectfully cleared according to the steps outlined above.

Consent and Revocation

By using our Service, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy, including the use of device permissions as described above. Should you decide to revoke the permissions, you may do so at any time through your device’s settings. However, please be aware that certain features of the app may not function properly without these permissions.

User-Generated Content Standards

To ensure Nearz remains a respectful, safe, and engaging platform for all users, we have established the following expanded content standards. These guidelines are designed to foster a positive and inclusive community. Violation of these standards may result in content removal, account suspension, or other disciplinary actions.

Prohibited Content and Behaviors

Users must NOT engage in, post, share, or promote:

  • Offensive Language or Behavior: Content that promotes, condones, or perpetuates discrimination, hate speech, harassment, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited. This includes using derogatory language or demeaning statements.
  • Sexually Explicit Material: Posting or sharing sexually explicit or pornographic material is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, images, videos, conversations, or any other content that depicts or suggests sexual acts.
  • Violence and Graphic Content: Content that depicts, glorifies, or encourages violence, self-harm, or dangerous activities is strictly forbidden. Graphic or gruesome images that may shock or disturb viewers are also not allowed.
  • Illegal Activities: Promoting or facilitating illegal activities, including the sale or use of illegal drugs, theft, fraud, or other criminal behaviors, is prohibited.
  • Intellectual Property Violations: Posting content that infringes on others’ intellectual property rights without permission, including copyrighted material, trademarks, or trade secrets, is not permitted.
  • Misinformation and False Claims: Spreading misinformation, false claims, or promoting conspiracy theories, especially those that could cause harm or undermine public health and safety, is not allowed.
  • Spam and Malicious Content: Engaging in spamming activities, such as unsolicited advertising, phishing scams, spreading malware, or other malicious content, is prohibited.
  • Impersonation and Privacy Violations: Impersonating others, sharing private or confidential information without consent, or engaging in behaviors that infringe upon the privacy and rights of others is forbidden.
  • Manipulated Media: Distributing manipulated media, such as deepfakes or other content that aims to deceive viewers about the reality of events, without clear disclaimers about the nature of the content, is not allowed.

Reporting and Enforcement

We encourage our community to report content that violates these standards using the built-in reporting features within Nearz Our team will review reported content and take appropriate action, including content removal, issuing warnings, or suspending accounts in accordance with the severity of the violation.
